MCCR: A House of Prayer for All People

MCC of the Rockies was founded over forty years ago in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Denver. The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches is our denomination, which was born out of the struggle for civil rights for the LGBTQ+ community in 1979. Informed by the living Gospel of Jesus Christ, our denomination played a critical role in supporting and sustaining our community throughout the worst years of the AIDS pandemic. It is a mission that continues to this day and through the trials of the most current pandemic, and which, through ongoing acts of faith and exploration, we extend to struggles for social justice in our neighborhood and throughout the world.
